For use under the electric light or in photography, different foundations can be used to help shape the face. The principles of shading to recede a feature and lighting to draw forward are universal and apply to all aspects of cosmetic application.
After foundation, you can use a concealer to cover all the blemishes, shadow or scars to hide, apply the correct shade of concealer where required and gently pat in. If you are dealing with quite dark marks, it may be preferable to apply the concealer with a brush and, gently but firmly, press the concealer into place with a dry sponge. Apply a light dusting of translucent powder over the concealer before moving on to the foundation. Sometimes it may be necessary to apply a little more concealer after the foundation has been applied, in which case blend in the edges and powder over to set. Read the full post
